These are the major findings from Protiviti’s 2022 SOX compliance survey, conducted in March and April 2022 with support from AuditBoard. The survey reflects the current state of SOX programs as organizations face inflation, rising interest rates, labor shortages, and other economic challenges affecting internal control environments.
Audit and SOX teams that focus on improving the efficiency and efficacy of their compliance programs today pave the way for greater efficiencies and potential cost savings down the line. This is especially important as SOX programs remain vulnerable to further external factors that could compromise internal control environments.
